During
my service at Saitama Prefectural Council, I visited Tohoku district
of China as a member of Japan-China friendship delegates in 1978.
That was my first time to go to China. In the fall of 1979, I went
to China again and looked around at a lot of places then. Thanks to
their thoughtfulness, we really enjoyed talking and studying together.
I still appreciate their hospitality extended to us; however I wished
I could have had spoken Chinese. I am sure that through this we could
make ourselves much more understood in order to communicate or exchage
our different ways of thinking. I came to realize how important the
language was.
Therefore, I decided to establish the Japanese language school, Saitama
International Exchange Language Institute here in Urawa.
As we enter the 21st century, the world is becoming smaller and
smaller at a remarkable speed. For this reason I decided
to establish the Urawa International School, to foster todays youth
in building a bridge from nation to nation across the world.
I hope that each of the students can cultivate his/her potenciality
towards the future by learning the language and grow to be a cosmopolitan,
whom is appreciated all over the world.
I am determined that we will make an effort in managing the ideal
Japanese language education. It is my prayer that in doing so, I may
express a small token of my gratitude for all the kindness which I
have received.
